Admissions

We are processing admissions for the 2014-2015 year.  Below is the basic instructions on how to get this process moving for your student.

The basic outline for admissions is as follows:

  1. Pre-application (to get your name in the system and start the process).
  2. FACTS application (tuition management and financial assessment program).
  3. Shadowing for two consecutive days (when school is in session).  Call to find out more: (603) 296-0939.
    – The two days of shadowing enables inquiring students to experience the full range of classes.
  4. Full application and four recommendations (Family, Guidance, History/Literature, and Science/Math).
  5. Two interviews. One with the parents and student, another with just the student.
  6. Admission decision.

Here is our Academic Calendar for the 2014-2015 School Year (click here to download).

An Independent, Non-Profit Institution

Since the concept for LHA is a completely different way to consider education, the founders decided not to obligate the school to a set of rules and regulations that have tended to stifle the education process and tie the hands of teachers and administrators.  We will not pursue government funding or grants that would require specific policies and practices that undermine the ability of LHA to educate students effectively. (For example: We will not rely on standardized tests or regulatory testing schedules that force teachers to ‘teach to the tests.’)

Accepting Academy Students In or Entering High School

These ages are the crucial years between childhood and young adulthood.  Incoming students must be ready to perform at a traditional high school level or be at a comparable level in a home-schooled environment.  LHA will consider applications from students who are capable but under-achieving as well as those who wish to pursue a more rigorous program.

Accepting Prep Students In or Entering Middle School

Liberty Harbor Prep prepares students for the rigors of the Academy and beyond, ensuring competencies in such areas as chronology, geography, pattern recognition, language and grammar, math and science, and self-presentation, among others.  Prep students are given priority placement when applying to the Academy.
